Handango has all reasons to celebrate. The popular mobile games and applications portal exists 10 years and so it revamped it's website in the hope to continue for at least another ten years in the business.
With more than 140,000 applications to choose from, Handango is one of today's giants. The company has generated over 100.000.000 downloads with an average value of $ 20. This means a turnover of about 2.000.000.000!
The site supports over 1000 devices over 8 operating systems. The site also supports 14 languages and 16 currencies. The customers come from over 200 countries and the games and apps have been sourced from 23.000 content partners.
"In a fragmented marketplace, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for smartphone users to search and download content. We know consumers traditionally search for new applications when they first purchase their phones so the new website features couldn't have come at a better time as so many new smartphones hit the market," said Bill Stone, CEO, Handango. "As the demand for applications continues to balloon, we look forward to another successful decade as the original smartphone app store where customers can find virtually any and all content for their devices."
Handango was founded in 1999 as PalmCentral.com, to provide third-party software for PDA's. Once smartphone devices emerged, the name was changed to Handango.
Congratulations Handango!
