KPN Users Crowdsourcing for new MMORPG Idea

February 25th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Marketing Strategies | 1 Comment »

Kpn-mobile
To promote mobile games amongst their clients, and create a bigger awareness of mobile services, Dutch operator KPN has decided to use one of Holland's biggest games sites' community to come up with fresh ideas.

The games site (gamez.nl) and marketing agency CreativeCrowds are challenging the gamez community to come up with a fresh idea for a MMORPG that would suit KPN's customer base.

By involving actual gamers, the companies hope to not only create a bigger awareness of the mobile gaming possibilities on the network, but also to lay out the foundation of a mobile game that would be loved and adopted by the community.

    1. I’m tired of buzzwords. This isn’t open source or crowdsourcing, it’s simply user driven innovation – a term that has been prevalent since the 80’s.
