Samsung is talking with Microsoft about the possibility to upgrade several smartphones to Windows Phone 7 Series. Those devices are soon to be launched with Windows Mobile 6.5.
Samsung plans to bring four Windows Mobile 6.5 devices in the market along the summer. All those devices should be stronger then the HTC HD2 from competitor HTC according to Mobile-Review. The hardware would be in-line with the demands for Windows Phone 7 Series so that should not be a problem.
