Apple and Operators Prepare for new iPhone (Firmware)

March 15th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Apple
Everything seems to point to a new iPhone that will arrive somewhere this summer. This rumour is not only supported by operators that are dropping the price on the iPhone 3G, but also because Apple is launching iPhone firmware v3.0.

The last time Apple had a major release of the iPhone firmware (v2.0), this was around the time of the iPhone 3G arrival. The new v3.0 release will be shown to journalists coming Tuesday, which means that Apple is expected to launch a new iPone by summer according to various sources on the internet. Sadly enough, it's only for journalists that are based in the US, but MGB will try to collect all the data available.

So what's to expect from v3.0? Hardly anybody knows, but here's the general wishlist we gathered;

– See what friends bought
– Subscription billing (for MMO's)
– Access to more parts of the hardware

And what are your wishes for 3.0?
