Pocket-gamer
Over at PocketGamer, Stuart has been working hard to get the first reactions on the new iPhone OS v3.0 firmware update. Below, we gathered some of the most interesting bits of them.

Playfish
Kristian Segerstrale, CEO Playfish “We're most excited by the micro-payment options and the push notifications. These will really differentiate the iPhone as a gaming platform from other handhelds and mobile devices.”

The-mobile-consultancy
Tim Harrison, Founder The Mobile Consultancy “2009 is different. Really it is. And one week will stand out in particular. Because this has been the week when the mobile games industry has officially, unequivocally, irrevocably been split into two – Apple and The Rest.” [

    1. News is doing the rounds that apparently if you sign the contract amendement as a developer, your apps vanish off the App Store!?
Just got off various forums again today where many developers who have requested and agreed to the amendment are loosing $100’s if not $1000’s a day! while Apple attempt to sort it all out.
There are some really pissed developers it seems.
Luckily I’ve not amended my own agreement yet – whew – I’ll wait a bit first for it all to settle down 🙂
What with the Feb reporting being further delayed not so many developers are quite as happy as made out above LOL.

    2. Just for the record it seems the panic is pretty much over now with amendments being signed off ok and no apps vanishing, plus feb’09 reports starting to appear and more importantly… payments for many developers too – whew eh? 🙂
