Nokia Acquired Minority Stake in Obopay

March 25th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Marketing Strategies | No Comments »

Nokia
Nokia seems to further diversify its reach in the global mobile content industry. As so, the Finish giant has invested enough in Obopay to acquire a minority share in the Redwood based mobile billing provider.

With the money that is flowing in, the company will invest in extending both their product suite as well as their global reach. Interesting is the fact that the company is highly active in India. Earlyer today, we already reported that Nokia’s N-Gage has signed up Oxicash for billing activities in India.

There is no news yet about Obopay support for both Ovi and N-Gage, but it is likely that Nokia will recognize the value of their share in Obopay, and so connect both to it.
