It seems like SonyEricsson is about to unleash more competition on their decks as they announced a cooperation with GetJar for their own (GetJar Managed) App Store.
Until now, SonyEricsson had its own platform for selling mobile games and other entertainment related products. Over the past years, it worked only with two dedicated aggregators that managed all incoming mobile games (GlobalFun & HandyGames).
Though GetJar has a massive mobile games portfolio, the announcement does give us the feeling that the GetJar deal is mostly focused at selling mobile applications instead of mobile games. The deal with GetJar is signed for three years and it seems GetJar is pretty much handling everything from catalogue management to developer sign ups.
