Most of you will probably remember my post “Will Work for Money”. Today I can announce that I have started a new job as Business Developer over at Pixalon Studios.
After two years of experimenting, I am back in the mobile games industry. I can imagine that this will raise some questions with all of you. As so, I compiled a mini interview with myself for a change. If you have questions, post them in the comments section below and I will answer them.
What will you be doing as a Business Developer?
I will be responsible for bringing in new business. This means finding publishers for our games as well as bringing in work for hire. So if you need a project done, send me an e-mail at olsder@pixalonstudios.com.
How will your new job impact MGB?
At Pixalon Studios, I need to bring in business. This means you can expect editorials about what is happening at Pixalon Studios and you can also expect some banners. Pixalon pays my salary and so, the company also secures the future of MGB. The core focus of the blog will remain the same it always was. The blog remains my personal property and Pixalon Studios will not have direct access to MGB's databases (including mailinglists). This means your personal data remains safe with MGB.
What about embargo's and rumours?
For embargo's, think of me as a split personality. Your secrets will not be abused by me and remain respected as always. When it comes to rumours, MGB might soften up a bit as I have to protect personal interests as well (up to some level). MGB will however remain on top of them and chase them if needed for the sake of the industry. I am looking to recruit a helper for the rumour section. If you want to volunteer, let me know! All volunteers will have complete editorial freedom and identities are safe if you don't want to write under your own name.
Why did we read this already on channels like Develop?
Congrats !
Good news Arjan!
